About The Position
LANXESS is a leading specialty chemicals company with a strong commitment to sustainability and diversity. We are currently seeking a motivated intern to join our engineering team. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a plant environment, working alongside engineers, maintenance technicians, and operators. As an intern, you will develop a working understanding of day-to-day maintenance operations, mechanical integrity, project scheduling, quality control, and safety protocols. You will be involved in reviewing equipment documentation, design and operating conditions, and specifications, which are crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities. In this role, you will also participate in Mechanical Integrity Inspection activities, where you will review, schedule, and witness inspections to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to review Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), including field verification, which is essential for understanding the processes and systems in place. A key aspect of your responsibilities will be to assemble and organize plant equipment documentation and specifications, with a strong emphasis on digitization to enhance efficiency and accessibility. This internship is designed to provide you with a comprehensive learning experience that will prepare you for a successful career in mechanical engineering.
