About The Position

This is a paid year-round internship located in Richland, WA. The Engineering Intern will support the Energy Northwest New Nuclear Engineering Group in delivering high-quality technical solutions for small modular reactor nuclear energy projects. This role offers hands-on experience in engineering design, analysis, and project coordination within a highly regulated environment. The intern will collaborate with experienced engineers to ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational requirements. GENERAL SUMMARY Provide entry-level to more advanced technical support for the designated organization based on assigned projects and student skill level. This position will be directly accountable to assigned department staff and will support assigned project related activities and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Requires current part to full time enrollment status in a bachelor’s or graduate degree program in a technical field related to the assigned role at an accredited college or university.
  • Must maintain a minimum 2.8 cumulative G.P.A. unless approved by Human Resources.
  • The selected candidate will be expected to be available to work onsite in Richland, WA.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

  • PREFERRED MAJORS Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering or related fields
  • DESIRED SKILLS Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with engineering software tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Support emergent related work or assignments
