About The Position

The Frymaster Summer Internship Program is designed to expose high-potential individuals to manufacturing systems and processes. Interns will be working alongside Frymaster employees on projects that will have a direct impact on the business. They will learn how to balance operational execution with strategic thinking and gain uniquely valuable experience in a discrete manufacturing environment while contributing to process improvements. Interns will be encouraged to identify opportunities for improvement and pitch ideas to address the problems they identify. Frymaster is committed to the professional development of students selected in the program. This position is based in Shreveport, LA. This position is open to candidates who are authorized to work and reside in specific states due to payroll, tax, and employment law requirements.

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Control Systems) at an accredited school.
  • Must have completed Sophomore year coursework to be eligible.
  • Microsoft Excel knowledge is required.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Must be able to communicate and engage with employees on the shop floor.
  • Must have valid US work authorization.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred but not required, although a demonstrable interest in industrial processes will be evaluated during the interview process.
  • AutoCAD or similar software is preferred by not required.

Responsibilities

  • Interns will be assigned to teams working on specific projects based on experience, academic background, and professional goals/interests.
  • Manufacturing Engineering: Process flow, production parts picking/delivery/presentation, process mapping, time studies/line balancing, and shop floor layouts.
  • Quality / Test Engineering: Electrical test equipment design, troubleshooting, calibration, non-conforming, inspection, auditing, and test processes.
  • Product Design Engineering: Mechanical and electrical product design, Bill of Material validation, 3D modeling, prototype building, and testing.
