About The Position

CIMCO is seeking an Engineering Intern to support the design and execution of industrial and recreational refrigeration projects. This role provides hands‑on experience in system design, modeling, and project coordination.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering
  • Strong technical and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to read or assist with construction drawings
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD for basic drawings and P&IDs

  • Manufacturing experience or exposure
  • Fabrication knowledge
  • Knowledge of refrigeration systems
  • Experience with spooling or 3D modeling concepts
  • Exposure to purchasing or procurement activities
  • Experience working with subcontractors
  • Knowledge of construction environments

Responsibilities

  • Execute projects as an Engineer independently (with supervision) or among a team with other Engineers on the team depending on experience and complexity.
  • Design of refrigeration system for industrial or recreational applications.
  • Select equipment and materials per project’s scope of work and required codes.
  • Coordinate with outside parties such as; customer, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure successful completion of project on schedule and within budget.
  • Coordinate with CIMCO’s various departments such as; construction, electrical, controls, manufacturing and purchasing as required per the projects scope of work.
  • Generate and issue Engineering drawings and documentation such as construction drawings, system design schematics, and projects scheduling.
  • Generate 3D SolidWorks model and spooling for fabrication based on known dimensional constraints, jobsite and customer requirements.
  • Generate project flow diagrams or P&ID’s using AutoCAD.
  • Design pipe routing to refrigeration standards while permitting ease of manufacturing and serviceability.
  • Project and component procurement using SAP.
