About The Position

Reporting to Facilities/Engineering Manager, the Engineering Intern will assist with various engineering disciplines in a wide variety of initiatives and projects. Praxis is today’s premier fabricator of sophisticated, small-scale titanium parts for highly specialized applications. Praxis Powder Technology is an ISO-13485 certified and AS9100D certified manufacturing company that produces titanium components via powder metallurgy with over ten years of experience manufacturing implantable devices. Praxis specializes in titanium via metal injection molding (MIM) and commercialized the only known qualified TiMIM process in the world. Since inception, Praxis has grown beyond the medical sector into the aerospace, defense and consumer markets.

Requirements

• Pursuing a Bachelor of Science in materials, mechanical, chemical or industrial engineering
• Computer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to independently set up experiments and monitor progress
• Analytical nature, responds positively to challenges and is a problem solver

Responsibilities

• Responsible for assisting various engineering disciplines in a wide variety of engineering initiatives and projects
• Focus on the successful completion of a technical project or process improvement, with documentation and presentation of results
• Develop an understanding of Praxis products and processes
• Work with senior level engineers and management to interpret and analyze data
• Assist in developing engineering processes with guidance from senior level engineers and management
• Opportunity to learn and execute lean manufacturing techniques
• Track and execute cost reduction for process improvements
• Lead value stream mapping exercises to determine and record business improvement areas
