What You'll Do Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager, the Engineering Internship offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, where you will support process improvement initiatives, assist in production troubleshooting, and contribute to the development of efficient manufacturing systems. Position is temporary through the summer. Opportunity to work limited schedule through the school year available. Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00am-4:30pm in office

Requirements

Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related field is required
Basic knowledge in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and willingness to learn other software
Reliable transportation
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
High level of confidentiality and professionalism when interacting with clients & vendors
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
Ability to effectively manage time, multi-task, and pay close attention to details
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Regularly required to move, sit, and bend for various hours throughout the day

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with Engineering software such as Solidworks, AutoCAD is a plus

Responsibilities

Assist in analyzing and improving manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure product quality
Participate in time studies, workflow analysis, and layout planning
Assist with developing and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions
Collect and analyze production data to identify trends and recommend improvements
Assist in the design and testing of jigs, fixtures, and tooling
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and project/process engineering
Support root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for production issues
Support the implementation of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all safety and quality procedures
Attend meetings and training as assigned
Complete project tasks as assigned
Provide necessary support to the either facility as needed
Have a daily presence on the manufacturing floor to work collaboratively with shop team
Support other divisional business units as directed by manager
