About The Position

The Engineering Intern will support the Product Sales team and R&D team by working on application and process validation, light design work and general office duties under the direct supervision of the Engineering Manager. The role will be engineering based to learn the science, technology and products, with the goal of being a knowledgeable resource for product and sales support. The Engineering Intern will not only focus on a small area of our products or one specific product, but also they will have the opportunity to learn and support all areas of the packaged boiler business as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Junior status in a four-year Mechanical Engineering degree program required; additional schooling or experience in engineering is a plus
  • Ability to use Excel including uniting calculation programs in excel
  • Must possess some engineering knowledge, material properties, and particularly heat transfer
  • Apply intellect, creativity, adaptability, judgment, and management skills to achieve required results.
  • Ensure duties and company projects are accomplished in an efficient and cost effective manner.
  • Support peers and management with internal and external projects.
  • Adhere to company policies.
  • Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done well
  • Position requires occasional exercise of problem solving skills.
  • Ability to handle responsibilities with effective interpersonal skills and to effectively interface with others inside and outside the Company is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge with Mechanical Design and 3D CAD software experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support peers and management with internal and external projects
  • Position requires occasional exercise of problem solving skills.
  • Will perform detailed or routing engineering assignments such as assisting with the definition of technical specifications, basic design problem resolution, providing product support and assistance to other internal departments
  • Will have design contact with Industrial boilers and related auxiliaries
  • Involvement with less complex aspects of engineering projects where limited evaluations is required
  • Refers problems and/or questions to Engineering Manager or senior engineers
  • Ability to handle responsibilities with effective interpersonal skills and to effectively interface with others inside and outside the Company is required.
  • Ability to look up drawings in ERP system as needed to provide support
  • Ability to generate sales quotations, properly save, and document special quotes to communicate what was quoted to the plant.
  • Become familiar with all product technical documentation, sales literature and digital media. Included but not limited to: Boiler book O&M manual Website content Brochures Videos Learning Management System (LMS) content Salesforce PowerUp partner portal access and documentation. Standard product submittals
  • Assist in ensuring the technical documentation is updated
  • Help develop standard product drawings and support document as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
