Overview: The Engineering Intern serves as a technical liaison within the Engineering Technical Support group, providing front-line pre-sale and post-sale support to both internal and external customers. This role supports regional sales, marketing, and operations teams by assisting with technical inquiries, application guidance, and product solutions across our automation and electrical product portfolio. As part of our technical sales support team, the Engineering Intern gains hands-on exposure to automation products, customer applications, and engineering processes. Through structured development, mentorship, and real-world problem solving, interns build both technical and professional skills while contributing directly to customer satisfaction and business growth. As Engineering Intern, you will: Provide front-line technical support to customers via phone and email, assisting with basic troubleshooting, product selection, and application questions Support Inside Sales and Account Managers with technical product information and solution recommendations Assist with pre-sale application support and post-sale troubleshooting inquiries Collaborate with regional sales and marketing teams to support customer initiatives and strategic accounts Develop and update step-by-step technical guides and documentation for internal and customer use Assist with development of proof-of-concept demonstrations using automation hardware and software Maintain and support demonstration room equipment and lab inventory Assist engineering team with hands-on lab setup for customer workshops, seminars, and training sessions Support project-based engineering activities as assigned Participate in product training and technical development opportunities Perform other related duties as assigned Learning & Development Opportunities Exposure to industrial automation products and electrical distribution solutions Development of troubleshooting and application support skills Cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams Mentorship from experienced engineers and technical leaders Experience supporting real-world customer applications across multiple industries Desired Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Include: Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and professionally (verbal and written) Demonstrates initiative, curiosity, and a willingness to learn Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team Strong organizational and follow-up skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with Windows operating systems Positive, customer-focused attitude Reporting Structure: Reports To: Engineering Supervisor Direct Reports: None Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8am to 5pm with 1 hour lunch and paid overtime, as needed. - Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
