About The Position

Velosity Brooklyn Park is searching for a motivated Engineering Intern to join our engineering team. This role offers hands-on experience in designing, testing, and improving mechanical systems while collaborating with experienced engineers on real-world projects. This is an on-site position. The typical pay range for this role: $20.00-$24.00.  This pay range reflects the base hourly rate or annual salary for positions within this job grade, based on our market-based pay structures. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, internal equity, business needs, and local market conditions. While the full range is shared for transparency, offers are rarely made at the minimum or maximum of the range. Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes. Basic knowledge of electrical circuits, PLC programming, or automation is a plus. 
  • Basic machining experience is preferred. 
  • Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
  • Basic knowledge of blueprint reading / GD&T is a plus. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Support high-precision Swiss CNC machining processes of medical device components in a contract manufacturing environment.
  • Create and maintain routings, work instructions, setup sheets, and process documentation.
  • Assist in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolving machining/quality issues found during production.
  • Assist in cross functional continuous improvement project implementation.
  • Identify process improvements that reduce cycle time, scrap, and tooling costs through process optimization and process mapping activities.
  • Assist in the design, modeling, and drafting of fixtures, equipment, and tooling using CAD software.
  • Support process development, assembly, and testing activities.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute ideas for product improvements.
  • Develop, document, and optimize manufacturing processes for Swiss‑type CNC machines
  • Other tasks as assigned.
