As an Electrical Engineering Intern in Engineering Services Special Protection Systems, you’ll provide solutions and services that help our customers protect and control critical electrical infrastructure and power systems worldwide. As an Electrical Engineering Intern, a typical day might include the following: Providing technical support to SEL staff (Power system analysis, Automation, Programming Relay Settings, and more! Developing and maintaining knowledge in SEL processes and technologies, while performing testing on new and existing technology. Provide Documentation support for the project deliverables. Developing and providing support for the programming need for the control algorithms. Communication protocols (IEC 61850, DNP and Modbus) and networking knowledge would be very useful. This job might be for you if: You are currently a student pursuing a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, with one to two years engineering education completed. You have the ability to work part time during the school year and full time during the summer. You are proficient with Microsoft Windows Applications (offices, Visio, and other tools). You have practical knowledge of protective relays & automation. You have practical Power system knowledge. Location Information This position is located in Houston, TX. Pay Range Data ($17.00 - $28.50 per hour) Our intern pay is determined based on the internship role (the work you would be doing) and your year in school (when you plan to graduate).
