About The Position

We are Techmer PM — the world’s foremost materials design firm, creating custom polymers that make up essential products. Through our long-standing partnerships with processors, original equipment manufacturers, and product designers, we’ve worked for decades to tackle manufacturing and business challenges through sustainable, future-minded solutions. We are currently seeking an Engineering Intern at our Clinton, TN facility. This position will be on 1st shift, Monday-Friday from 7:30am-4:00pm. Benefits include: Hourly employees are paid weekly

Requirements

Current enrollment at a 4-year university pursuing an BS in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering.
Computer literate in MS Office Suite of products.
Excellent problem solving skills.
High degree of organizational skills to effectively handle all assigned responsibilities.
Team builder

Nice To Haves

CAD experience a plus.
PLC programming experience a plus.
Experience in applying Lean Manufacturing and 6 Sigma tools to resolve processing problems and optimize efficiencies.

Responsibilities

Complies with all Safety procedures required at the site.
Design and implement projects on Site Continuous Improvement Plan.
Identify process gaps, conduct root cause analysis, and develop solutions to improve. Examples could be efficiency bottlenecks, Safety improvements, machinery revisions to increase throughput or reduce waste. And 5S to ensure necessary tools and supplies are available.
Utilize academic knowledge to incorporate into practical tasks on the plant floor.
