With sales and service locations throughout the world, and over 100 years of battery experience, EnerSys is the power/full solution for stored DC power products.  Job PurposeWorks on assigned projects that may include analysis and design of equipment, and deployment/troubleshooting of equipment such as LORA, (Long Range Wide Area Network) to automate readings in production departments. Assists Engineering and project teams to discuss design concepts, material optimization, and incorporate feedback to ensure design integrity for tooling, machines and equipment. Creates new and updates existing drawings of equipment, machine tooling, and facilities. 

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent classwork in industrial drafting, an engineering discipline or a related field.
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Word and Excel.
  • Proficiency with most current version of AutoCAD or concurrent enrollment in a four-year drafting program with at least a Junior standing.
  • Ability to comprehend instructions, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to communicate successfully in a team environment.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to constant priority/deadline changes and move between assignments efficiently.
  • Ability to perform self-directed work to accomplish departmental objectives.
  • Ability to organize, coordinate, and perform multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Knowledge of various software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access databases, and PowerPoint, plus various reporting platforms.
  • Ability to perform widely varied tasks with minimal direct supervision.
  • Skill in attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy.
  • Problem-solving ability to identify and address engineering challenges.
  • Ability to perform basic electronic troubleshooting and wiring.
  • Ability to evaluate processes and equipment to identify tooling needs.
  • Skill in reading and understanding sketches, verbal instructions, and project requirements to translate them into accurate CAD drawings.
  • Knowledge of and basic proficiency in 3D modeling software.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to work in a chemical/manufacturing environment (exposure to lead dust, acid, etc.)
  • Position requires an awareness of Lead contamination to ensure environmental hygiene.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):  Employee is required to wear company-issued uniforms, gloves, safety shoes, respirator if the lead is air is greater than the PEL, and safety glasses with side shields.
  • Blood drawn regularly to check blood lead, as required by policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial drafting, an engineering discipline or the equivalent, plus one year of on-the-job experience.
  • PLC experience a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of electronic troubleshooting and wiring helpful.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint and Power BI.

Responsibilities

  • Works on assigned Engineering projects.
  • Deploys automated solutions such as LORA, (LORAWAN) to improve data integrity and accuracy, and process efficiency.
  • Assists with dialing in automated equipment such as production robots and equipment with Programmable Logic Controllers, PLCs.
  • Converts blueprint lay out concept drawings into detail drawings.
  • Uses computer-aided design (CAD) software to translate conceptual designs into detailed plans for manufacturing while ensuring accuracy and adherence to project/product standards. Produces layouts, detailed drawings, and assembly diagrams.
  • Works closely with Engineering and project teams to discuss design concepts, material optimization, and incorporate feedback to ensure design integrity.
  • Creates new and updates existing drawings of equipment, machine tooling, and facilities. Works with Maintenance, Engineering and Production to improve and design new and replacement tooling and equipment.
  • Uses blueprint layout concept drawings and converts them to detailed CAD drawings.
