About The Position

As an Engineering Intern at Magna AIM Systems, you will play a vital role in supporting manufacturing processes, optimizing production efficiency and contributing to the overall success of our operations. The internship provides a hands-on opportunity to gain valuable experience in manufacturing engineering within a dynamic and innovative work environment.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure documentation accuracy and compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-faces environment.
  • Candidate currently enrolled in a Manufacturing, Engineering or related technical degree program
  • Coursework or project experience in manufacturing processes, quality systems or industrial automation preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Work, PowerPoint) and familiarity with ERP or manufacturing systems.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing documentation such as FMEA, Control Plans and Standardize Work.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing or technical environment is a plus.
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen or Six Sigma methodologies preferred.
  • Interest in automation systems such as AMR and SmartPick.

Responsibilities

  • Support creation and timely release of detailed work instructions to guide manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure all process-related documentation, including FMEA, control plans, and work instructions, is maintained in proper order.
  • Support the corporation Ergonomics program by creating videos and assisting in the creation of job assessments.
  • Support meeting PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) requirements and assist in PDR (Production Design Release) runs.
  • Contribute to the success of new equipment run-offs and new program prototype builds.
  • Interfere with cross-function teams to develop and maintain FMEA, Flow Diagrams, Control Plans and work instructions.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure successful communication and project execution.
  • Assist the engineering team in reducing Risk Priority Numbers (RPNs).
  • Support various Continuous Improvement (CI) activities across departments.
  • Support AMR (Automated Material Replenishment) projects to enhance material flow and efficiency.
  • Support Smart Pick rollout activities, including implementation, training and ongoing process optimization.
