HID’s Engineering team is seeking an enthusiastic Engineering Intern to contribute to developing and testing embedded firmware solutions. This internship offers hands-on experience in firmware development, testing, and optimization across various innovative products. Interns will work closely with senior engineers and gain exposure to embedded systems, firmware development, hardware integration, and quality assurance. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming languages.
  • Experience with embedded systems, controllers, or hardware/software integration.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts (e.g., UDP, TCP) and debugging tools like Wireshark.
  • Scripting experience with PowerShell.
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and computer architecture.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)

Responsibilities

  • Firmware Development: Assisting in writing, testing, and debugging embedded firmware code for hardware devices.
  • Documentation: Helping document firmware development processes, design specifications, and test procedures.
  • Testing & Debugging: Performing manual and automated testing and conduct hardware/software debugging to ensure firmware reliability and functionality.
  • Collaboration: Working with cross-functional teams—including product teams, firmware developers, and quality assurance—to ensure firmware aligns with product specifications.
  • Support & Maintenance: Assisting in maintaining and improving existing firmware solutions by identifying, reproducing, and resolving issues reported by customers or internal teams.
  • Research & Learning: Staying updated with emerging technologies and best practices in embedded systems and firmware development.
