The Engineering Intern will perform a variety of entry-level technical duties to assist in the preparation, review, and maintenance of engineering/quality documents, and create ad hoc reports. The candidate will utilize their field of study (chemical, industrial, electrical, mechanical, civil) to bring critical-thinking skills into the role and gain hands-on experience in the assigned internship.

Requirements

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline
• Actively enrolled in courses
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing
• Microsoft Suite proficiency
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods of time

Responsibilities

• Optimization of the current processes as assigned by the plant manager, quality control supervisor, or plant engineer.
• Work on enhancing operational equipment efficiency (OEE)
• Create or modify standard operating procedures (SOP's)
• Perform line and process audits utilizing the plants Quality Management System (QMS)
• Assist in writing authorization for expenditures (AFE's)
• Engage in time motion studies
