About The Position

The Engineering Intern position at Central Plateau Cleanup Company (CPCCo) offers students a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various engineering disciplines while contributing to environmental safety and health initiatives. Interns will work under the guidance of experienced mentors, developing technical skills and networking within the technical community, all while supporting the cleanup mission of the historic Hanford area.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Active full-time student during the two semesters/quarters immediately preceding the assignment.
  • Maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) during college enrollment.
  • Actively enrolled in a full-time degree program related to CPCCo's mission.
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours) during the internship.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in various engineering projects related to environmental safety and health.
  • Develop hands-on technical skills in specific engineering disciplines such as Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Civil/Structural, Design/Construction, Nuclear Safety, and Fire Protection.
  • Learn about current projects and contribute to the remediation efforts at the Hanford Site.
  • Network with professionals in the technical community and gain insights into the industry.
