MITER Brands™ is a residential window and door manufacturer that provides a leading portfolio of window and door brands for the new construction and replacement segments. MITER Brands, also known as Milgard, MI Windows & Doors and PGTI is one of the nation's largest suppliers of vinyl windows and patio doors, with plants across the country. We are looking for Engineering Interns for our Gratz, Pennsylvania Ops Support Center. In this role you will assist and support current Engineering team with projects, while learning and gaining experience in fenestration product design, product testing, and/or production machinery. Ability to advance within the department by becoming proficient in design and development, while obtaining a better understanding of the business and its requirements. Tasks will include preparing/performing products test, 3D modeling and documentation of our products and/or machinery. This position will provide an opportunity for growth and learning our products while supporting the needs of the business.

  • Responsible for assisting higher-level Engineers in design/modification and documentation
  • Create 3D concepts/designs of fenestration products and/or production machinery.
  • Ability to create/revise/review detailed product drawings, bill of materials, etc.
  • Use computer aided drafting and design software to perform structural, thermal, and motion analysis
  • Test prototypes to analyze design, operation and performance of new or enhanced parts/products
  • Work with Engineers and Manufacturing team improve manufacturability and product design or machinery
  • Provide support for manufacturing facilities related to product production and quality
  • Prioritize workload to ensure that deliverables are completed in timelines that meet customer expectations
  • Maintain an individual project schedule to maximize task efficiency, prioritization, and communication
  • Adhere to existing and assist in continuous improvement department standards
  • Currently enrolled in a College/University, pursuing a Bachelor's Degree
  • Proficient using 3D computer aided drafting/design software, Solidworks 3D experience required
  • Engineering Part/Assembly document reading including GD&T required
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Strong mechanical analysis, problem-solving, concept modeling, and mathematical skills
  • Strong time management, organizational skills, and ability to set priorities for multiple tasks
  • Ability to effectively communicate in written or verbal manner with individuals from all areas of the organization
  • Ability to work in a production environment, if required
  • Ability to self-start and work independently
  • Ability to work flexible hours and/or travel depending on the needs of the department and/or business
  • Knowledge of MIWD products or other fenestration related industry, processes, and systems or similar business practices is a plus, but not required
