The Engineering Intern position involves applying standard engineering techniques and procedures to assist in various project duties within the Transmission & Distribution group. Interns will engage in tasks such as design corrections, data analysis, and project support, contributing to the planning and design of electrical transmission projects.

  • Assist with standard design of engineering systems and update designs as needed.
  • Support lead engineers with various project duties.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts by collecting and analyzing data.
  • Research and recommend solutions to project concerns.
  • Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, and documentation tasks.
  • Help prepare PowerPoint presentations and respond to general questions.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
  • Pursuit of Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited program.
  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary education or technical certificate program related to the department's work.
  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
  • Prior internship or related consulting experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn and grow within the field.
  • Involvement on campus or in the community preferred.
  • Participation in the 401(k) retirement program (eligibility requirements apply).
  • Accrued sick leave based on hours worked.
