What you will be doing As our Summer Engineering Intern, you will gain exposure to an innovative global materials technology business that makes materials for a better life. During the three months of your internship, you will gain valuable experience working with our Process Engineers on real world issues in a chemical manufacturing plant. This may include: Overseeing and supporting contractor activities; Handling projects that support communication between maintenance, contractors, and operations for initial engineering trials; Collaborating with experienced process engineers on the installation phase of larger projects; Monitoring timelines and progress of equipment installations to meet scheduling demands; Working with Process Engineers in an assigned area to develop recommendations for current operations and future development; Demonstrating data driven problem-solving methodology; and, Completing a designated improvement project.

Requirements

  • current pursuit of a mechanical or chemical engineering degree with at least one year into the major concentration from an ABET accredited program
  • Have the ability to apply technical math skills to solve real world problems
  • Be self-motivated with good written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, report writing skills, and presentation abilities
  • Work well in a highly collaborative fast-paced environment with cross-functional teams
  • Have experience with contributing to the creation of reports, dashboards, and presentations
  • Be proficient in MS Office applications
  • Have knowledge of AutoCAD
