About The Position

The Zurn Elkay Engineering Internship supporting the Zurn Wilkins Water Control and Safety business unit, offers a great opportunity for exposure in a hands-on learning environment. You will have the opportunity to develop a variety of technical, business, and leadership skills during the assignment. The responsibilities the intern will complete include assisting the Engineering Team that is responsible for the development and certification of plumbing product for the backflow and pressure reducing valve markets. This individual would also play a major role in supporting the Engineering team valve testing with high pressure/high flow of water.

Requirements

• Currently attending school for a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Plastics Engineering Technology, or similar.
• Must have completed course work relating to design.
• Able to work 40 hours per week during the summer.
• Efficient and detail-oriented.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient knowledge of MS Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic product design modifications.
• Perform AutoCAD & Inventor Drafting tasks on drawing revisions and creation.
• Develop basic detail and assembly drawings for products and equipment.
• Perform engineering change processes as necessary to support existing products.
• Communicate with team members to gather information about project requirements or to report progress on a project.
• Conduct technical research to identify issues and propose solutions.
• Create rapid prototypes through 3D printing.
• Test plumbing products to performance standards and report results for existing products, new prototypes and product returns.
