The Engineering Intern - Advance Commercial Technology is responsible for working with the ACT Engineering team to aid in research and development tasks for new technology projects. Under supervision of the ACT engineering manager, the intern will perform design tasks and testing of electrical/firmware components for the projects. Participants can expect to develop engineering skills through challenging assignments and usage of various engineering tools. This position is based on site at our Waukesha headquarters. The internship will begin in Spring 2026 (January) on a part-time basis (10-20 hrs/week) and continue through the Summer on a full-time basis (40 hrs/week).

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a similar field.
  • Available to work part-time during Spring Semester 2026 and full-time during Summer 2026.
  • Able to work on-site in our Waukesha headquarters.
  • Previous experience with tools such as MatLab and Simulink; coding languages such as Python and/or C.
  • Interest in electrical engineering, especially new technologies.
  • Interest in AI and Machine Learning and their applications within industrial and electrical engineering.
  • Desire to learn via hands-on projects and experiences alongside a collaborative team.
