Role Summary Internship Term: Summer 2026 Rivian internships are experiences optimized for student candidates. To be eligible, you must be an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited program during the internship term with an expected graduation date between December 2026 through June 2028. Rivian's Internship Program requires active student enrollment. Information regarding your expected degree completion date is collected solely to verify eligibility and determine your availability for future full-time opportunities. The intern will be responsible for mechanical CAD design to ensure designs are manufacturable and reliable.

Requirements

  • Must be currently pursuing a bachelors, masters, or PhD degree at an accredited university
  • Actively pursuing a degree or one closely related in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience using CAD tools to create manufacturable products

Nice To Haves

  • Participation in commercial design for manufacturing process, preferred
  • Experience in FEA simulation, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Create detailed CAD models based on high-level design descriptions using standard software such as Catia, SolidWorks, Siemens NX, or Creo
  • Assemble components and create accurate schematics for various systems
  • Ensure all components fit together seamlessly with rigorous reviews, software tools and tolerance analyses
  • Work closely with vendors to review and refine designs
  • Write parameterized scripts to automate generation of CAD models
