About The Position

The Engineering Intern in Computational Methods Development at Rivian will assist in developing computational methods for physics-based simulations. This role is designed for undergraduate or graduate students who are pursuing degrees in relevant fields, focusing on algorithm development, numerical analysis, and programming for both detailed and system-level modeling.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a master's or PhD degree at an accredited university (PhD preferred).
  • Actively pursuing a degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Strong background in mathematical analysis and algorithm development for finite-element analysis and statistical analysis.
  • Extensive programming experience in scientific computing and cloud computing.
  • Expertise in analysis of multi-physics systems, including electromagnetic, structural mechanics, thermo-fluids, control systems, and vehicle dynamics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop 2D/3D finite-element (FE) solver.
  • Develop data analysis and machine learning tools.
  • Develop methods for state-of-the-art product design using continuous/discrete optimization and high-performance computing (HPC).
  • Streamline and automate the product development processes.
  • Develop models for integrated multi-physics system-level analysis.
  • Develop methods for noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) analysis.
