Our Engineering Experienced First Line Supervisor role is a pivotal leadership position within our engineering team. The Engineering department is crucial in maintaining and improving the vast network of tracks, structures, and facilities essential for safe and efficient train operations across the country. This team of skilled professionals utilizes cutting-edge technology and engineering principles to ensure the railway infrastructure meets the highest standards of reliability and performance. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around leadership, training, and safety, and contribute to our team's success and growth.

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States and will be at least eighteen (18) years old upon hire.
  • Have a valid Driver's License or will have a valid Driver's License upon hire.
  • Capable of working in a 24/7 environment, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Able and willing to relocate anywhere on the BNSF Railway operating system (western 28 states) upon hire, career progression, and/or business needs.
  • Have a high school degree or achieved a degree through a GED program.
  • Have at least three (3) years of military and/or professional work experience supervising five (5) or more employees.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, maintain, repair, and construct our track infrastructure, which encompasses rails, ties, and ballast, to uphold BNSF's standards.
  • Participate in various projects related to Track infrastructure maintenance, construction, and innovation.
  • Collaborate with experienced engineers and managers to learn and implement best practices in railway engineering.
  • Gain insights into safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and environmental stewardship initiatives.
  • Foster relationships with cross-functional teams to drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Administer, supervise, and coordinate all maintenance, construction, inspection and operation of bridges and structures.
  • Participate in various projects related to expansion of BNSF terminals & hubs, central lines, facilities, the repair & replacement of structures, & oversight of public projects and utility crossings.
