About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Engineering Drawing Control Supervisor to join our Chobani team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in 3D modeling and possess at least seven years of experience in the field. This individual must be proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks software, along with 3D modelling software, such as Navisworks, and be capable of designing, developing, and modifying models and drawings for various engineering projects. Prospective candidates should also have experience developing and implementing controlled drawing policies/procedures. Experience in change management engineering systems is a plus. This individual will also be responsible for the supervision of at least one draftsperson. The individual will be working closely with the engineering and project management team. This role will lead to all efforts of drawing creation and revisions, keeping the 3D model of the facility up to date and maintaining drawing database to ensure the most recent versions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil/mechanical engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Certifications such as Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) or similar credentials are considered as an asset.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in 3D modeling, design, and drafting.
  • Ability to develop controlled document change management policies and procedures as well as implement the electronic systems (as applicable).
  • Proficiency in BIM software, AutoCAD and SolidWorks is a must.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Solid leadership, communication and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in product design, mechanical systems, or industrial engineering.
  • Familiarity with simulation and analysis tools within SolidWorks.
  • Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Prior experience in a supervisor or managerial role of at least one individual contributor.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the creation, coordination, and maintenance of 3D BIM models for construction, process piping layouts and other projects.
  • Oversee daily operations and ensure staff adherence to company policies and procedures. Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Prepare and direct the preparation of dimensional, installation and more complex drawings.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other team members to ensure design accuracy and feasibility.
  • Ensure that the 3D and 2D models are compliant with all project specifications and quality standards and highlight issues as required.
  • Use 3D modelling software (Revit, Navisworks, SolidWorks, etc.) to develop, manage, and analyze models for constructability and future expansion capabilities.
  • Conduct design reviews and make necessary modifications as required.
  • Ensure all designs comply with industry standards and company specifications.
  • Strong ability to ensure accuracy and precision in design work, ensuring compliance.
  • Maintain and organize 2D and 3D files and documentation.
  • Assist in prototype development and testing as needed.
  • Revise and update existing drawings reflecting design changes.
  • Creates and maintains a library of new and existing records.
  • Interact with outside contractors regarding project drawings and transfer of information.
  • Track drawings released to outside companies for revisions.
