Eaton Corporation is seeking an Engineering Director, Digital Solutions, to lead a high-performing team dedicated to delivering simplified, reliable technology and software solutions for Machinery OEM and Industrial markets. In this role, you will oversee the execution and advancement of our digital design and software development initiatives, driving end-to-end solutions within the Brightlayer digital platform. You'll collaborate with global engineering and business leaders to champion Eaton's digital strategy, delivering best-in-class solutions that empower customers to optimize their electrical distribution systems and monitor their power infrastructure effectively.

  • Lead an agile global engineering team of 50+ (scrum masters, software architects, developers, DevOps, testers) which design, implement, and support the enterprise applications for Eaton Brightlayer software suites.
  • Oversee program execution and delivery of activities for Brightlayer applications, ensuring program status is communicated to all levels of the organization.
  • Develop and manage the end-to-end software product development strategy.
  • Collaborate with business partners to develop business models for Eaton's digital monetization strategy.
  • Provide input and represent divisional customer use cases and requirements to global Brightlayer Software Suite product development groups.
  • Partner with Eaton Centers of Excellence on accelerating technologies into digital solutions including software, industrial gateways, and edge analytics technologies.
  • Lead day-to-day technical execution of product development initiatives across organizations in multiple Eaton locations.
  • Develop and refine strong project management processes around requirements gathering, software development & validation (scrum teams), testing and production support.
  • Manage the organizational budget of engineering, software infrastructure, CapEx costs and outsourcing partners as needed to augment team capabilities.
  • Lead the evaluation of emerging technologies, foster innovation, and oversee the strategic technical roadmap for enterprise software, gateways, and industrial monitoring digital solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Software Engineering; Masters/MBA Degree Preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in software and/or IoT product development, with 6+ years leading global high-performance engineering organizations in delivering enterprise and/or cloud native software solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience with Agile development methodologies and concepts.
  • 3+ years of experience leading architects and development leads in modern software architecture, cloud native design, use of modular design patterns and microservices.
  • Experience overseeing implementation of CI/CD processes, DevSecOps tools.
  • Proven experience with multi-million-dollar budget management and solution delivery using vendor partners.
  • Prior experience developing software for Industry 4.0, IoT connected products, creating APIs and applications (desktop, mobile, web, cloud).
  • Experience ensuring cybersecurity practices in enterprise software and cloud applications.
  • Experience working in the industrial markets preferably in power management and/or process monitoring space.
