About The Position

Roblox's Virtual Economy powers every virtual transaction on the platform—from avatar items in the Marketplace to selling in-experience purchases that fuel some of the most popular games in the world. It is the economic engine behind millions of developers who earn a living through their creativity and the billions of transactions that happen every month across Roblox. As a Senior Engineering Director for Developer Monetization, you will lead a high-performing, deeply technical team responsible for the systems that power one of the world's largest virtual economies. This team owns the full lifecycle of Robux-based transactions that take place across the platform—from in-experience purchases to the monetization mechanics behind avatar items and beyond. These systems are high-scale, proprietary, and core to Roblox's mission to enable anyone to be a creator. You'll drive innovation in how developers—from first-time creators to large studios—can grow their businesses, increase their earnings, and build compelling user experiences. This includes leading efforts to personalize monetization opportunities for users, enabling targeted offers, automating complex creator workflows, and providing plug-and-play monetization features that scale effortlessly across experiences. Running an economy of this size and impact means embracing deep complexity. You'll need to navigate challenges like price floors, economic incentives, fees, and fraud prevention, all while maintaining user trust and platform integrity. You'll work cross-functionally with engineering, product, data science, and finance to ensure our systems are secure, scalable, and tuned to empower our creator ecosystem to thrive. Requirements

• A thought leader with a proven track record of highly technical delivery in high scalability environments
• Passionate and experienced about marketplace, e-commerce, and economic motivations and incentives for large scale platforms
• Experienced, with 12+ years in an engineering management role
• 6+ years in a Senior leadership role (org size 75+)
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar technical field

Responsibilities

• Shape and grow a high performance engineering team with some of the highest scale production responsibilities
• Hire, mentor, and develop senior engineers, managers, and leaders
• Create a culture and practice of raising the bar as well as delivering world class engineering systems and products
• Partner closely with all functions in the company to develop innovative solutions that create a cohesive and powerful creator platform
