About The Position

CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking an Engineering Designer to join our Infrastructure - Water Team at our Wilmington, DE or Bethlehem, PA office. Clean and safe water and wastewater management is vital for every community's well-being. CHA delivers environmentally friendly and cost-effective water, wastewater and stormwater projects, handling every step from assessment to planning and design in these critical situations. The Engineering Designer is responsible for the research, preparation, and creation of various types of contract or construction drawings and/or documents related to pipes, watermain lines, and sewer design. The professional in this role collaborates with senior engineering designers, mentors junior engineering designers and collaborates with design teams on multiple projects in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet client, contractual and company requirements. The Engineering Designer produces and revises routine drawings or sketches related to the engineering design with minimal oversight from senior staff, and is familiar with company standards, client expectations and typical engineering practices. This individual prepares project 'As-Builts' documentation, and field assignments when appropriate. The Engineering Designer uses drawing production software (REVIT, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.) to create construction documents.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Engineering Science or related technical field is required.
  • A minimum of 4 years' experience of document production experience in the related engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrates a solid working knowledge about the respective engineering discipline.
  • Proficient with discipline-based software (REVIT, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.).
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences.
  • Strong work ethic and desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to assist more senior staff.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities
