About The Position

Engineering Data Specialist (Experienced Level) Company: Boeing Aerospace Operations Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking an Engineering Data Specialist (Experienced Level) for Oklahoma City, OK . The Engineering Data Specialist for this organization will be part of a team providing sustainment and modification support to the USAF to help maintain and sustain its fleet of Boeing E-4B aircraft. This Position will evaluate heavy maintenance requirements (e.g., task cards, service bulletins), research and process parts, materials, and tools to support maintenance and obsolescent parts. Additionally, this position will identify and plan for possible unscheduled needs for parts, materials, and tools based on historical maintenance activity. This technician will support research of required Bills of Materials (BOMs) and work with supplier management and external vendors to plan and pre-process overhauls and repairs for various parts, ensuring specific turnaround times (TAT) are known and met. Furthermore, this position will work closely with the United States Air Force (USAF) and Government customers to ensure the continued safe operation of the fleet.

Requirements

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience, 9 years (related work experience, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of aerospace logistics experience

Responsibilities

  • Research obsolete parts, materials, and tools required to sustain aging aircraft
  • Support reviews of PDM task cards to identify scheduled parts removals, such as panels, flight controls, filters, Line Replaceable Units (LRUs), etc.
  • Participate with the NCR support team in the identification and processing of LRU’s that need to be ordered to support projected Over and Above (O/A) activity based on lessons learned from previous PDM activity.
  • Support the required research to process material requirements, ensuring the PDM Bill of Materials (BOM) is stocked and readily available while identifying future obsolete materials
  • Work with supplier management and external vendors to schedule and/or project the removal and arrival dates of parts that will require overhaul.
  • Research and analyze systems and components to identify issues and corrective action
  • Provide solutions intended to improve system performance and increase operational availability
  • Resolve a wide range of technical and operational issues associated with in-service aircraft, depot maintenance, and repair
  • Participate in a multi-disciplined team to ensure customer contractual requirements are met
  • Draft and review technical publication source data
  • Interpret engineering drawings and standards
