ATS is seeking an Engineering Consultant to support our Mechanical Integrity Department at ATS Richmond, VA office located in Rockville, VA. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week with the potential for overtime. This position is ideal for recent graduates with Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or closely related field of study and ATS will fast track you to obtain API certifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical/Structural Engineering or closely related field required.
  • Experience in Mechanical Integrity preferred but not required.
  • Must be willing to travel 30% out of office.
  • API Certifications are to be obtained through OJT after hire and pre-test support from ATS in one or more of the following specialties: API-510, API-570, API-653, CWI.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks preferred.
  • Desire to obtain Engineer in Training (EIT) and /or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Excellent communication skills written and verbal.
  • Ability and motivation to obtain API/CWI cert(s) through OJT after hire and ATS pre-test support in one or more of the following specialties: API-510, API-570, API-653, CWI.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field inspections of industrial equipment under the supervision of qualified API Inspection personnel (storage tanks, pressure vessels, and piping systems).
  • Generate calculations in accordance with API, ASME, STI, etc.
  • Generate written reports utilizing MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Develop AutoCAD drawings or isometrics.
  • Assist in Managing projects ranging from $5,000 - $100,000.
  • Assist in Managing client relationships.
