About The Position
The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is recruiting for an Engineering Construction Contracting Section Supervisor. The role is responsible for overseeing the creation of contract documents as well as managing the advertising, bid letting and contract award processes for all construction contracts within the MDT Highways and Engineering Division. Duties include evaluating engineering plans, specifications, and estimates for bid letting suitability; overseeing the preparation of comprehensive bid packages; coordinating letting of bid packages and processing bid proposals; providing technical assistance to department staff, consulting engineers, contractors, counties, municipalities, and other stakeholders; and identifies and improves business practices, including processes, procedures, bidding software, and automated systems associated with the contract letting process.
