Overview: Our Co-Op employees are high-tech liaisons, using technical skill and problem-solving acumen to assist both internal and external customers with pre-sale and post-sale technical support. As part of our technical sales team, you will gain extensive product knowledge through training and develop long-term professional relationships by working with a collaborative, skillful team of people Our cooperative program’s developmental process includes a structured, graduated work plan and an assigned work coach, who will mentor you on various projects such as assisting the sales team on achieving specific goals and objectives or working with McNaughton-McKay engineers on various application projects. This process will expand sales and technical knowledge, while allowing hands-on experience and exposure to automation products, giving our co-ops the opportunity to ‘Put Theory into Practice’.

Requirements

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision; organizing, prioritizing, and completing tasks at own initiative
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong initiative and teamwork skills
  • Positive attitude with customers, co-workers, and management
  • Knowledge of MS operating systems and MS Office
  • Detail oriented and excellent follow-up skills

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers, Inside Sales, and Account Manager with technical questions.
  • Act as a technical phone support representative, providing customers with basic application assistance.
  • Proactively sell phone support contracts and software update contracts to assigned accounts.
  • Create and updates step-by-step procedure guides for customers and internal use.
  • Maintain the company’s automation equipment that is on display in the demonstration room.
  • Use demonstration hardware inventory to develop ‘proofs of concept’.
  • Assist the Engineering team with hands-on lab equipment setup for customer workshops and seminars.
  • Assist engineers with project work as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
