As a co-op within the MSAT Device Lifecycle Team at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine, you will support Device Lifecycle Engineers in a variety of activities that provide a comprehensive understanding of our combination product portfolio. More specifically, during the co-op you will have a unique opportunity to gain insight into the lifecycle management of drug delivery devices (e.g., devices for subcutaneous injection) and combination products.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Design/Human Factors, Physical Science, or a related field, with an interest in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; able to work independently and collaboratively in a global team environment across multiple time zones.
  • Demonstrates a proactive approach to learning, adaptability in a fast-paced environment, creativity, and strong organizational capabilities.
  • Fluent in English
  • Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future.
  • Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually requires future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with 3D CAD software is a plus (e,g., SolidWorks).

Responsibilities

  • Device Product Lifecycle Management: Participate in activities essential to maintaining combination products on the market, with a focus on End-to-End manufacturing process control mapping and change control process.
  • Device model / animation based on 3D CAD models: Support the development of device animations based on 3D CAD models of device components with the objective of replicating customer complaints and illustrating device design functionality (i.e., internal device mechanism functionality). Compile data to support the robustness of the animations (e,g, customer complaint trends based on complaint narratives and/or test data based on physical benchtop testing) and/or directly develop the virtual animation of the device based on 3D CAD models and supporting software (based on skill set).
  • Customer Complaint Analysis: Assist in reviewing customer complaint narratives, customer complaint trend analysis, review of returned device inspection reports with the objective of identifying contributors to reported customer complaints
