The Water Engineering department is hiring an engineering associate. This role offers excellent opportunities to learn and grow through hands-on project experience under the supervision of an incredible senior engineers and technical specialists. You will have the outstanding opportunity to be involved in the whole cycle of projects from planning/conceptual design to detailed design, construction, and operation. You will provide engineering and technical support to our water and hydroelectric operations with facilities along the Lower Colorado River. Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, engineering technology, engineering physics, biosystems engineering, mathematical science, physical science or related science.
  • Driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • 4-year college degree in civil engineering, with an emphasis on structural or geotechnical engineering
  • An FE or EIT certification
  • Experience in levee and dam analysis/design/construction/inspection

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering calculations and designs
  • Visit project sites and document field observations
  • Review existing reports/available data and develop a list of issues and build a summary
  • Investigate technical issues and develop practical solutions
  • Review project plans and specifications prepared by external consulting engineers hired by LCRA
