JOB SUMMARY Core Lab is seeking an Engineering Technician for our ProTechnics division. This role involves hands-on work in building, assembling, testing, calibrating, and maintaining electronic and mechanical equipment. The technician will diagnose failures, qualify components, and suggest design improvements. Responsibilities include bench and oven testing, high-temperature soldering, and using diagnostic tools like oscilloscopes and multimeters.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience in diagnostics, repair, calibration, and temperature testing.
- Proficiency with electronic test equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, etc.)
- Strong soldering skills (SMT hand soldering); IPC-J-STD-001 CIS Certification preferred.
- Familiarity with mechanical tools (drill press, lathe, mill).
- Solid troubleshooting and deductive reasoning abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Oil field industry experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Build and assemble electronic circuit boards according to specifications.
- Assemble various tools and equipment required for operations.
- Perform bench and oven testing to evaluate equipment performance.
- Calibrate equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
- Conduct repair and maintenance of both mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Test and qualify components to verify functionality and reliability.
- Apply troubleshooting techniques to diagnose and resolve equipment failures.
- Provide recommendations for design improvements based on testing and analysis.
