We are actively seeking to identify personnel to join our team of talented professionals who possess the experience, vision, commitment, and integrity to successfully support the strategic goals of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) Office of Mission & Capability Support (MCS). DHS S&T was established by Congress to provide innovative scientific and technical solutions to the nation's homeland security challenges. Within S&T, MCS executes Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) to transition solution approaches, technologies, and knowledge products in support of DHS Component customers including U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), U.S. Secret Service, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), Federal, State, Local Tribal and Territorial (FSLTT) first responders, and the larger Homeland Security Enterprise (HSE). New teammates will support these efforts, as well as augment our existing team working on rapidly developing technology in response to evolving threats. It is anticipated that this role will support Infrastructure Security projects. We are looking for someone who is mission-driven, demonstrates initiative, and engages teammates to proactively and creatively solve problems. This is currently a hybrid position with a blend of on-site and remote work, requiring staff to be in-person at the DHS S&T client site in Washington, DC as needed. Applicants must be able to regularly commute to the National Capital Region. Role functions may include: Analyzing and supporting the management of the technical, scope, budget, risks, and other aspects of the project. Providing data collection and analyses of user requirements and of existing and emerging systems, capabilities, and technologies. Providing technical and programmatic reviews of deliverables. Supporting the identification, assessment, evaluation, and testing of existing and emerging technologies, systems, and capabilities, including coordination with related government, academic, and industry partners. Assisting with the development of RDT&E contracts, to include tasks such as developing solicitation material and assessing technical solutions. Providing support to program managers in their continued engagement with DHS S&T customers on the receipt, prioritization, and reporting of their operational capability gaps. Assisting with planning technology transitions to the operational customer. Performing tasks including, but not limited to: writing internal memos; preparing and reviewing presentations; supporting data calls; and organizing, directing, and coordinating planning and production of all activities associated with projects.
