About The Position

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for an Engineering Aircraft Coordinator to join our Engineering department based in Mobile, AL. In this role, you will support the aircraft design, build, test, and operations processes, working closely with the physical aircraft. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the coordination of engineering deliverables and help ensure priorities align with industrial planning needs. As a member of the A320 MAP Engineering Team, you will support the collection and reporting of performance metrics to help ensure service level agreement (SLA) requirements are met. You'll also participate in final assembly line (FAL) routines as a representative of the MAP Engineering team. Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical or systems engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 6 years of relevant experience in an Engineering, M.E or Engineering coordination role.
  • Relevant experience is in the field of aeronautics, Engineering or Industrial Planning

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in solving engineering problems
  • Ability to function on the basis of self-motivation and self-direction
  • Willing to travel up to 15% of the time overseas and domestically within the Airbus international network, supplier and customer sites.
  • Onsite or remote: Onsite 100%
  • Must hold an EASA, TCCA, or FAA Class 2 Medical and be able to perform duties as aircrew on a daily basis.
  • Vision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.
  • Hearing: able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms.
  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.
  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.
  • Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer.
  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.
  • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice.
  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate priorities for the MAP Engineering team to support the MAP Engineering Managers.
  • Assist in planning and prioritizing work items, and ensure their status is visible in reporting tools.
  • Act as a point of contact for MAP with various Final Assembly Line (FAL) organizations, screening issues under MAP responsibility and informing the relevant function leader.
  • Communicate daily plans and priorities to the MAP team, Autonomous Production Teams (APTs), and Multi-functional Teams (MFTs).
  • Help set appropriate priorities for all daily topics and ensure MAP Engineering deliverables are completed on time.
  • Support the process of ensuring all topics have agreed-upon target dates from MAP function leaders and provide feedback to manufacturing to align with industrial and engineering milestones.
  • Maintain and update MAP reporting tools, such as the One Click Board (OCB), to ensure accurate and current data for your assigned area.
  • Collaborate with Quality and MAP teams to ensure the quality of non-conformance (NC) data meets process requirements.
  • Help prepare for and participate in routine meetings, such as Q-Gates and FOT meetings, to maintain a strong feedback loop within the MAP Engineering teams.
  • Create meeting minutes for station/production morning meetings, recording data directly in the OCB.
  • Support the coordination of on-aircraft engineering assessments and interventions with the MFT/APT.
  • Provide timely and accurate escalations to the MAP Managers when necessary.
  • Assist in preparing global endorsement sheets and ensuring Aircam Mods are signed by the Chief Engineer or their delegate prior to the FOT meeting.
