The Engineering Aide position at Business Integra Inc. involves serving as an engineering technician within the Structures and Environmental Test Laboratories located in Orlando, Florida. This role is crucial for supporting the Instrumentation Group and requires a hands-on approach to various engineering tasks. The primary responsibilities include the installation of diverse types of instrumentation such as accelerometers, thermocouples, load cells, pressure transducers, and acoustic transducers. The candidate will be tasked with connecting these instruments to a data acquisition system, ensuring proper signal conditioning and data collection. The role also involves processing the collected data into formats preferred by internal customers, necessitating regular interaction to review data and requirements to ensure timely and accurate delivery of results. In addition to installation and data processing, the Engineering Aide will be expected to conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests in accordance with established procedures. A strong foundation in electrical knowledge is essential, including the ability to interpret electrical schematics and apply Ohm's Law for calculations involving resistance, current, and voltage. The candidate should also possess skills in fabricating electronic cables and connector assemblies, as well as calibrating and operating digital data acquisition systems. Proficiency in MATLAB and data acquisition software, particularly Dewesoft, is also required to effectively perform the job duties. The position is full-time and may offer contract-to-hire opportunities, with a work schedule of 4/10A on the first shift.
