About The Position

The ARA Better Fuels Group (BFG) is seeking a temporary engineering aide to provide technical and operational support to engineers on a variety of routine technical tasks. Under general supervision, the engineering aide gathers, maintains, formats, compiles and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Records data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis. ARA is an employee-owned international research and engineering company recognized for providing technically superior solutions to complex and challenging problems in the physical sciences. The company, founded in Albuquerque, NM, in 1979, currently employs over 2,000 professionals and continues to grow. ARA offices throughout the United States and Canada provide a broad range of technical expertise in environmental technologies, civil technologies, computer software and simulation, defense technologies, systems analysis, and testing and measurement. The Better Fuels Group develops and deploys innovative fuels technologies, converting waste products to renewable fuels, creating high value products for a sustainable future. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of related experience
  • Mechanically inclined and have experience setting up, operating, and maintaining several types of equipment
  • Good organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Computer literate, including MS Word, Excel, and other related computer skills
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and move drums

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a lab or pilot plant environment
  • Experience working with high temperature and high pressure systems
  • Experience with LabView
  • Experience working with compression fittings

Responsibilities

  • Maintains necessary pilot plant documentation and logbooks.
  • Maintains and operates pilot plant equipment in a safe, precise, and accurate fashion.
  • Accurately compiles data to summarize experimental results.
  • Carries out all assigned tasks in an exemplary professional manner.
