The Engineering advisor will be a part of the Engineering Team within the Capital Projects structure and will report to the Director of Engineering. You will be responsible for leading and delivering all aspects of electrical engineering scope related to operations and maintenance of existing assets and design, specifying and engineering of new capital projects. This role will serve to complete and assure designs run through our internal engineering firm, which once validated is provided to installation contractors, interconnecting utilities, permitting authorities, clients, and building owners on capital projects. You will also be the liaison with other technical centers of excellence within the global ENGIE organization and manage these relationships and engagements. Your primary responsibility encompasses: Develop design specs and cost estimates for Transformers, switchgears, fiberoptic cables/power cables, motors, generators, UPS Systems, substations Prepare Bill of Materials for projects to include equipment from system design Provide assurance on detailed engineering delivered by Engineering Contractors including review and assess electrical equipment supplied by vendors Document completed installations for client as-built drawings for purposes of operations and maintenance Evaluate existing facilities and building electrical systems including distribution equipment, premises wiring, and utility supply infrastructure Lead basis of arguments for overhaul, repair, replace electrical equipment and components for performance enhancements with campuses Carryout arc flash studies, electrical safety audits and infrastructure studies in district energy systems Oversee and assure the work of engineering contractors/consultants, peers Develop electrical components including selecting equipment, performing calculations, determining interconnection with utility and existing electrical system Support interconnection agreements with utilities Coordinate with local jurisdictions and utilities to confirm compliance with applicable codes and to secure necessary permit and interconnection approval Regularly travel to perform site surveys which will include field inspection, and working in proximity to AC and DC electrical components Remain up-to-date on new technologies and regulatory conditions including building codes, fire codes, utility requirements, vendor qualifications, industry best practices, safety standards, and relevant standards development
