About The Position

This position will require access to ITAR and/or EAR controlled technical data, technology or source code, and requires that all individuals in this role be authorized to access such information General Description: The Engineering Administrator is a, hourly, non-exempt position working under the general supervision of the Engineering Manager. The Engineering Administrator is responsible for general administrative and clerical duties within the Engineering Department, in addition to supporting the Document Control Specialist. This position requires attention to detail, thoroughness, excellent organizational skills, a strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office software suite, and general proficiency with Windows based operating systems. The Document Control Administrator primarily interacts with Engineering, however, interactions with Production, Quality, Program Management and Supply Chain departments may also occur. Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills are required. Supervision Given/Received: This position performs a variety of routine work within established policies and procedures and receives detailed instructions on new projects and assignments. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 3 years of clerical or administration experience is required
  • Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (primarily Word, Excel, Access) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Training within each software platform is required.
  • Proactive, organized approach to multitasking.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience is in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in Aerospace or Defense industries is also preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the day-to-day clerical and administrative operations pertaining to the Document Control function within the Engineering Department
  • Maintaining manual and electronic filing systems
  • Performs typing duties to generate/revise engineering documents
  • Performs data entry in support of an engineer’s project
  • Maintains proper supply levels for department office supplies, copiers, etc.
  • Creates requisitions for departmental supplies when needed
  • Assists in scheduling and coordinating department trainings, meetings and events
  • Assist the Document Control Specialist in maintaining and distributing controlled documentation
  • Supports other duties within the Engineering Department
  • Obtains and routes correspondence for and within the Engineering Department
  • Seeks opportunities for improvement within Engineering Department systems and communicates those with the Engineering Department Manager
  • Assists in modifying technical documents when given direction from Engineers re-writing documents into the most current formats
  • Schedule semiannual social events for the department
  • Publish a monthly list of open Change Orders to the Engineering Department
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the Product Data Management (PDM) system
  • Set-up and clean-up of meeting space for department meetings/lunches
  • Performs other similar duties as requested or assigned
