About The Position

The Maintenance Engineer at Aimbridge Hospitality is responsible for the operation, maintenance, service, and repair of hotel equipment. This role includes participating in the preventative maintenance program, handling guest requests, and performing various trade jobs such as carpentry, plumbing, and painting. The engineer must ensure all tasks are completed safely and efficiently, and may also be required to drive a shuttle van when necessary.

Requirements

  • Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Licensed in a trade preferred (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.).
  • Must have a valid driver's license for the applicable state.
  • Must have an acceptable MVR (Motor Vehicle Driving Record) property specific.
  • Basic knowledge and experience in carpentry, plumbing, mechanical repair, painting, and HVAC systems preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; monitor own work to ensure quality and apply feedback to improve performance.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility in response to change and adapt to new methods and procedures.
  • Knowledge of safety principles and federal and state OSHA regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge and experience in carpentry, plumbing, mechanical repair, painting, and HVAC systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment.
  • Change out light bulbs and perform preventative maintenance for guest rooms, including vinyl repair, touch-up paint, minor furniture repair, tub caulking, and tile repairs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance for ice machines, refrigerators, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, HVAC, guest rooms, meeting rooms, swimming pool, and hot tub.
  • Perform plumbing repairs and preventative maintenance on all exhaust fans and supply; monitor energy conservation; repair vacuum cleaners and any other small equipment upon request.
  • Immediately follow up on any alarms to determine the exact location and cause, determine emergency status, and report to the Front Desk with findings.
  • Perform other tasks/jobs as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
