The Engineer position at Newmar involves providing engineering support for all aspects associated with the design, manufacturing, assembly, and validation of recreational vehicles. The role requires collaboration with various teams to enhance product design and functionality while adhering to budget and schedule parameters.

  • Assist with the development of product design and functionality.
  • Implement assigned product engineering within the schedule and budget parameters.
  • Interface and collaborate with operations teams to identify opportunities related to product designs, assembly, and material to improve product satisfaction, productivity, and profitability.
  • Address issues related to the product by actively participating in problem solving methodologies.
  • Analyze the risks of a new design or process and communicate results to engineering team leaders.
  • Support the product assembly team to ensure product is assembled based on intended functionality of all product components.
  • Participate in all required testing of product components.
  • Assist as requested in the creation of product designs and specifications using computer software modeling techniques.
  • Participate as required, in all activities to ensure that products conform to market specifications and safety regulations.
  • Perform other tasks or duties as assigned.
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3-5 years of applicable engineering experience in a manufacturing organization.
  • 1-3 years of preferred work experience in one or several areas related to body engineering/vehicle structures, chassis/powertrain/driveline systems, interior systems (cockpit/trim/infotainment), electrical engineering, and industrial design.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications and computer-aided design (CAD) platforms; NX preferred.
  • Analytical and design skills.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Skilled at working effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Good technical understanding of components used in an RV product.
  • Skill to read and interpret documents related to safety, operations, maintenance, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of engineering design and Microsoft Office software applications.
