About The Position

Bowhead Operations Maintenance Solutions seeks an Engineer to work onboard government vessels out of Naval Station Pearl Harbor (Honolulu, Hawaii). The Engineer will supervise and perform maintenance on all engineering, deck, fire-fighting and emergency equipment.

Requirements

• Licensed USCG Designated Duty Engineer (DDE) for Motor Vessels of 1000 horsepower.
• Experience in routine operation, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and repairs of shipboard systems.
• STCW 95 endorsement.
• TWIC (Transportation Worker Identity Card), current.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.

• Military experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and perform maintenance on all engineering, deck, fire-fighting and emergency equipment.
• Conduct routine engineering operations.
• Supervise and maintain preventive maintenance system documentation and history.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to engineering equipment.
• Carry out deck repairs and modifications.
• Implement shipboard safety measures including firefighting, basic first-aid, and emergency shipboard systems.

• Primarily day work (home at night, 80 %), Monday-Friday with occasional weekend harbor work.
