Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s in electrical engineering, or combined electrical/mechanical engineering, or a relevant field.
  • 10+ years of experience in ECU hardware development and release.
  • Demonstrated success in launching critical ECUs into production (e.g., body electrical, powertrain, battery, drive unit, and/or power distribution).
  • Strong understanding of automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet, Flexray).
  • Experience with relevant automotive assignments covering all phases of product development (design, test, and launch).
  • Experience with PCB design, component selection, thermal / power analysis, and ECU manufacturing.
  • Strong technical skills and expertise in ECU development and release employing a six-sigma approach to engineering design and problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with computer-aided engineering (CAE) or direct experience in this field.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with individuals at all organizational levels.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with zonal architecture or centralized vehicle compute systems.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and functional safety requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with lab tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.).
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end design and release of zonal ECUs, from concept through production launch.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including other engineering disciplines (e.g., Body, Drive, Energy), electrical architecture, software, validation, manufacturing, and suppliers.
  • Define and manage hardware requirements, including power distribution, thermal management, and signal integrity.
  • Drive ECU design reviews, DFMEAs, and validation plans.
  • Ensure compliance with automotive standards (e.g., ISO 26262, EMC, ESD).
  • Manage supplier resources and technical deliverables to deliver components and systems that meet cost, timing, and quality targets aligned with program milestones.
  • Support build events, issue resolution, and change management throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Being part of a diverse team fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture, promoting continuous learning and professional development among team members.
  • Proactively stay attuned to consumer experience and propose system improvements accordingly.
  • Contribute to the design of production facilities for Scout trucks & SUVs.
