The Engineer will work with complex systems and equipment, while providing engineering and technical services to support our growing organization. Areas of expertise include designing new substations and infrastructure, analyzing systems and disruptions to service, working with transformers, engineering the electrical protection and control circuits that handles the flow of power, and dealing with acceptance testing of equipment, failures of equipment and analysis of system disturbances. Authorization to work in the United States is a precondition to employment in this position. Eversource will not sponsor candidates for work visas for this position. Engineer in Transmission System Planning assists in transmission system impact studies and system solutions development study files, internal project approval document for proposed system changes and/or upgrades. The role provides support for power system study model development and maintenance and performs technical analysis under guidance. Typical reliability studies include analyses of power flow, stability, electromagnetic transient, and short circuit.
