About The Position

The Engineer Technical Services Level 2/3 position at Northrop Grumman involves providing technical advice and guidance on the installation, adaptation, configuration, or enhancement of technical products, programs, and systems. The role includes troubleshooting, modifying products to meet customer requirements, and training new Technical Support Engineers and customers. The position requires embedded support to IBCS units in OCONUS sites on a rotational basis, focusing on hardware, software, and network troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with 5 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 2 years of experience, or a PhD with no experience, or additional years in lieu of a degree.
  • Must meet and maintain administrative, legal, and medical Department of Defense contractor deployment requirements.
  • Willingness to travel to Huntsville, AL for a 10-week initial training.
  • Must successfully complete Northrop Grumman IBCS entry training with a minimum score of 80%.
  • Ability to perform tasks in austere environments with varying conditions.
  • Ability to lift, carry, move, and use tool kits and equipment items up to 35lbs.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and perform tasks while wearing it.
  • Must meet and maintain physical fitness standards for travel in support of US Military Operations.
  • Must have a valid passport with an expiration date greater than 36 months at the time of employment offer.
  • Must have and maintain an active CompTIA Security+ Certification.
  • Must have and maintain a CompTIA Linux+ certification or the ability to complete one within six months of hire date.
  • Must have and maintain a Department of Defense secret security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • System administration experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Experience operating within a Continuous Delivery/Continuous Integration culture.
  • Ability to lead technical briefings with customers and end users.
  • Experience integrating COTS, GOTS, and custom software in a security-constrained environment.
  • Knowledge of military operations, procedures, and training activities.
  • Knowledge of Army ADA systems and operations such as PATRIOT, THAAD, SENTINEL.
  • Graduation from Joint Tactical Information Distribution System-JT101 course or Multi-TDL Advanced Joint Interoperability Course (Majic).
  • Graduation from Army Basic Instructor Course or Small Group Instructor Training course.
  • Military veteran with service as an Air Defense Artillery (ADA) Non-Commissioned, Warrant, or Commissioned Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in troubleshooting IBCS hardware, software, and networks.
  • Provides updated information on system capabilities through direct liaison with remote engineers.
  • Provides feedback to program leadership regarding system performance and end-user comments.
  • Works with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to maintain situational awareness of product development and identify development issues early.
  • Performs operator and maintainer tasks on equipment, integrated systems, subsystems, and software.
  • Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Performs R&R (Remove and Replace) of LRUs (Line Replaceable Units) in the field.
