About The Position

HII Mission Technologies is seeking an experienced Test Manager to support our Presidential and Executive Airlift customer at Wright‑Patterson Air Force Base. In this critical role, you will help ensure the safe, effective, and timely fielding of advanced aircraft by shaping and integrating the end‑to‑end test enterprise. This position requires deep experience with DoD and Air Force test principles, the ability to translate user needs into system‑level requirements, and proven success in planning, executing, and evaluating test activities for complex weapons and aircraft systems.

Requirements

  • 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.
  • Experience supporting ACAT I–level programs within the DoD acquisition environment.
  • Background in aircraft system design, development, and mission systems integration, particularly for commercial derivatives or military transport platforms.
  • Technical expertise in systems displays, data buses, test planning, and sustainment operations.
  • Familiarity with Air Force certification and airworthiness processes.
  • Active DOD Secret clearance

Responsibilities

  • Synthesize contractual test requirements into executable system‑level test strategies that balance technical, schedule, and cost considerations.
  • Develop and direct the creation of comprehensive test plans, schedules, and procedures.
  • Coordinate integrated test activities across government and contractor teams.
  • Review and evaluate test requirements to ensure test program completeness and traceability.
  • Perform technical analyses of full systems and prepare detailed system‑level evaluations.
  • Serve as the Test IPT representative across meetings, working groups, and leadership forums.
  • Coordinate requirement verification and test objectives with engineering staff and program managers.
  • Administer contractor test documentation and obtain technical and safety approvals.
  • Collaborate with government stakeholders including AFTC, AFOTEC, DOT&E, OUSD R&E, prime contractors, and user organizations.
  • Support government‑owned test documentation efforts such as TEMPs, operations plans, and test plans.
  • Apply airworthiness processes, compliance mapping, and develop SSRAs.
  • Conduct trade studies and translate requirements into system specifications to support design and test efforts.
  • Prepare and review technical evaluations, engineering studies, RFP documentation, test plans, ATPs, and spectrum determinations.
  • Participate in major program reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, FCA, PCA, PMR, etc.).
  • Contribute to cost, lifecycle, maintainability, reliability, risk, and schedule assessments.
  • Apply knowledge of MIL‑STDs/HDBKs, FARs, NPRMs, ADs, AMOCs, and other certification and compliance criteria.
