About The Position

Engineer Systems IV is a network engineer who oversees the creation of hybrid software and hardware products from initial specifications to final rollout and maintenance. They support development, testing, and supervision of the manufacturing of electrical and electronics equipment, including broadcast and communications systems, electric motors, machinery controls, lighting and wiring in buildings, automobiles aircraft, radar and navigation systems and transmission devices used by electric utilities. ESY’s work closely with computers and specialize in different areas such as power generation, transmission, distribution, communications, and electrical equipment manufacturing. ESY’s design new products, write performance requirements and develop maintenance schedules. They also test equipment, solve operating problems, and estimate the time and cost of engineering projects. Work Model: Onsite/In-Office

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s level degree in an Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • Ten (10) years of professional experience in mechanical, structural, or electrical/electronic design
  • Current active TS/SCI Clearance
  • COMPTIA Sec+
  • AVIXA Certified Technical Specialist (CTS)
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check and pre-hire drug test

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Audio Visual Engineering & Design well versed in AV Applications
  • Certified Technical Specialist – Design (CTS-D) (AVIXA Certification)
  • Certified Quality Designer – (CQD) (AQAV Certification)
  • Possess knowledge and skills for monitoring and measuring quality while the AV system is designed and developed through design reviews and engineering review milestones

Responsibilities

  • Provide Engineering oversite and Installation of AV equipment components and subcomponents in locations specified in the IDP or as otherwise directed by the Government
  • Follow and implement and apply the Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)
  • Correct/Mitigate vulnerabilities detected during security scanning
  • Installation of operating systems and device configurations & documenting device configurations
  • Development of training and transition plans
  • Development of System Operational Verification Test (SOVT) documents for each system
  • Analyzing new and changed system requirements, system designs, and refining technical solutions to ensure continuity between AV infrastructure design and installation
  • Configure equipment to provide a secure, integrated system
  • Provide programming support for audiovisual system controllers
  • Identify any materials incidental to the integration task not provided
  • Complete system tests in accordance with established test plan to ensure total operation and functional compatibly with interfacing/interacting systems, subsystems, equipment and computer programs
  • Troubleshoot and advise corrective action for maintenance and operational issues
  • Schedule and coordinate government representative acceptance and turn-over as required
  • Provide for training and indoctrination documentation of new systems for operators and users following system integration
  • Installation, certification test, checkout, termination, and labeling of copper/coaxial/fiber cable
  • Installation of communications equipment, crypto and associated multi-circuit patch panels
  • Installation of patch cabling
  • Review of the IDP to become familiar with AV requirements, performance of a site survey to confirm prevailing site conditions, and coordination with the Government Project Manager to finalize a schedule to support AV design and installation activities at multiple Facilities at Offutt AFB, Nebraska, including support for planned and/or ad hoc coordination meetings
  • Installation, test, and checkout of AV equipment and associated cabling, including but not limited to monitors, speakers, video switches, microphones, control panels, amplifiers, and VTC codecs, in accordance with provided designs and guidance
  • Racking of equipment (as required) and grounding equipment with appropriately sized (standard wall and SCIF boundary walls) Installation of console-mounted hardware in accordance with designs and guidance provided, with a neat and orderly appearance indicative of professional craftsmanship, including dressed cables and cords with adequate slack to enable proper movement of sliding shelves, and unobstructed slide out trays and racks unless required by the design Installation of equipment racks, and installation and termination of network and audio/video cabling Working with vendors to troubleshoot/RMA faulty equipment Creation/modification/red-lining of AutoCAD drawing packages as required to document any required changes to the A/V Installation Design Plans, including "red-lined" changes in installation from provided drawings for inclusion in the final as-built package.
  • Act as Engineering/Team lead for the onsite Chugach Support team. Interface with the Administration on operational needs for supporting other team employees in facilitating HR and FSO support
  • Will serve as the onsite team lead for supporting the onsite engineering team in Huntsville, AL
