As a key player in Spectra’s Test Engineering Group, you will focus on automated validation of new features, bug fixes, and overall quality of the product. Day-to-day activities will include developing test infrastructure, test cases and test plans in Golang, participating in design and code reviews with all development teams, implementing small to medium features and bug fixes in production code, and diagnosing failures found via automated testing.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field or 2+ years of related experience
  • A passion for creating world class products by applying new testing methodologies
  • Strong analytical, diagnosis and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with basic System Administrator for Linux environments
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and professionally
  • A strong work ethic, the ability to work independently with little supervision, and share workload in team settings

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Go
  • Experience with HW and SW integrated solutions

Responsibilities

  • Developing in Go to improve the quality of the product. This includes automation code, production code, and proof of concept code.
  • Designing and implementing test plans and test cases in Go that run continuously.
  • Performing root cause analysis on issues found and implementing fixes.
  • Working closely with other development teams to drive quality, improve functionality, and transfer knowledge.
  • Effectively communicating with other groups to provide all necessary information needed to communicate the severity and the scope of any defects found.
  • Be a pillar of quality that improves the product holistically.
